Midterm Locations and Rules

Your upcoming midterm will be held during regular lecture hour on 3-16-2005, and to accomodate all students there will be 2 locations:

Students with last name A-L will be in 1 LeConte. I repeat: A-L goes to 1 LECONTE!

Students with last name M-Z will be in 10 Evans, the usual lecture room.

There are some rules:

1. It's Berkeley Time. Meaning it's a 50-minute exam.

2. It's open-book, open-notes. You can bring your textbook, homework solutions, etc. If you don't want to bring stashes of paper you could just bring your laptop with you. However, Since AirBears is pervasive, we will have to outlaw all instant messaging, googling, etc. The easiest way to monitor that is TYPING. Therefore, you could use your mouse to scroll around and double click, but you're not allowed to touch your keyboard.

3. No "cut-and-paste," literally. I know sometimes the answer to a question comes straight from the textbook or homework solution, but don't bring a pair of scissors and glue and start making a collage out of this midterm. All answers must be hand-written (for your benefit, I implore you to write as legibly as you could.)

4. Space out. There should be plenty of seats, so leave one empty seat in between. You'll need it for all your belongings anyway.

Good luck with your studying.
