Solute-dislocation interactions in metal alloys
Many important properties of structural materials are influenced by interactions between solute atoms and dislocations. Although the solute-dislocation interaction energy may be found directly in principle, the computational resources for such a calculation are not tractable.

Our research focuses on the developing a continuum theory that allows the undersanding of the nature of this interaction using first principles calculations of only small clusters of atoms. The results enable the studies of elastic and magnetic contributions to the solute-dislocation interactions.
